Evidence Assoc. sets March Training Conference

The Arkansas Association of Property and Evidence will host their first annual conference March 22nd, 23rd and 24th at Holiday Inn, 120 W. Pershing, North Little Rock.

There will be many great speakers and topics, some of which include:

Arkansas State Crime Laboratory Operation Shutdown- Steve Hargis, Difference in Operation Shutdown and Firearms

Arkansas State Crime Laboratory- Director J.R. Howard and Kermit Channell, DNA Laws and How They Impact Your Property Room

Little Rock Police Department Property and Evidence- Carri Frederick, “Is Your Property Room a Soft Target?� (Theft and security)

Nucor Steele- Wayne Tumey, Weapon Destructions

Property Room.com- Steve Lupinnaci, On-line Auctions

Secret Service- Chuck Brisco, Your Agency and Counterfeit Money

Teris, Inc.- Teresa Evans, Drug Destruction

Texas Association of Property and Evidence- John Vasquez, Changing Laws as an Association

The list of speakers and topics is continuously growing, including accreditation policies and procedures, long term storage of drugs, vendors, networking and resource sharing. There will also be a general business meeting Friday. The cost of the conference ($150.00) includes yearly membership dues for 2006-2007 and five meals. Rooms are available at the Holiday Inn for a discounted rate of $65.00 per night when you mention the association. Keep in mind the international course is nearly three times the cost, and this conference will cover local standards and regulations.
