This new seminar presented by Dr. Brian Polansky focuses on the role of Ethics & Excellence in Law Enforcement. Seminar content argues that ethical behavior is in every officer’s best interest because doing the right thing leads to successful and fulfilling careers. In this course, Dr. Polansky focuses on helping officers do just that. Participants will identify the necessary skills for developing excellence and learn how to practice ethical interaction to facilitate professional success. This course is appropriate for both sworn and civilian personnel and will benefit anyone interested in improving their professionalism. Emphasis is given to specific techniques that ensure ethical compliance, reduce citizen complaints, enhance law enforcement professionalism, and encourage successful and fulfilling careers. In addition, you will learn: * Why an Ethical Life is a Happy and Fulfilling Life; * Causes of Police Corruption; * #1 Reason Why Officers Lose Their Jobs; * Five Reasons Why Police Marriages End; * How to Make an Ethical Decision; * The Role of Victimization, Rationalization, and Self-Deception; in Corrupt and Unethical Behavior; * Steps to Ensuring Mental and Emotional Fitness for Duty; and * How to Raise a Delicate Issue. The conference will be held at the Holiday Inn Presidential in Little Rock, located at 600 I-30 (6th Street exit). If you need overnight accommodations, contact the hotel directly at 501-375-2100. Please register early to ensure seating. Registration fee for the conference is $20.00 per person (checks or cash only please). This fee is required in advance. Slots will not be reserved without payment. Refreshments and conference materials will be provided. Substitutions are allowed; however, no refunds will be given after the registration deadline.
