SUICIDE BOMBERS, BOMBS & EXPLOSIVES: RECOGNIZING & PREVENTING THE THREAT IN YOUR COMMUNITY ON FEBRUARY 15, 2007 (CONFERENCE CHECK-IN & BREAKFAST WILL BE AT 8:00 A.M.) AT THE WYNDHAM RIVERFRONT HOTEL NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR U.S. Department of Justice United States Attorney Eastern District of Arkansas Post Office Box 1229 501-340-2600 425 W. Capitol Avenue, Suite 500 Fax 501-340-2725 Little Rock, Arkansas 72201 MEMORANDUM January 9, 2007 The United States Attorney’s Office is pleased to announce another training opportunity brought to you by the Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council (ATAC). On February 15, 2007, we will provide training on protecting against an attack from a suicide bomber. Retired Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) officer, David Harel of Tel Aviv, Israel, will return to Little Rock to impart some of his vast knowledge on preventing an Israeli type of suicide bombing. Many of you attended training conducted by Mr. Harel last year and we have received many requests to bring him back to the district. In addition to Harel, retired Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Special Agent Jerry Taylor will instruct officers on how to guard against terrorists or other criminals who might want to construct a bomb in the district. Taylor’s training is designed to inspire officers to find all sources of bomb making materials in their jurisdictions and to keep tabs on evil doers who might attempt to obtain these components to hurt innocent civilians. Mr. Taylor has instructed previously in our district and has always received amazing reviews. This training promises to be very interesting and highly informative with two very dynamic speakers. The conference will be held at the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel in North Little Rock, located at 2 Riverfront Place. If you need overnight accommodations, we have reserved a block of rooms at the government rate of $76.00 plus tax.
