RE: UPCOMING ATAC/LECC TRAINING: The United States Attorney’s Office is pleased to announce another FREE training opportunity brought to you by the Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (LECC) and Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council (ATAC) for the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Arkansas. This training is specifically designed for officers in the field who might encounter individuals who are illegally in the United States. This one-day LECC/ATAC course will be taught by officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), United States Secret Service, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF). Agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement will provide training on identification of fraudulent immigration documents, including passports, I-551, I20 and I94. Secret Service agents will train on the subject of identity theft. JTTF agents will instruct participants on the connection between illegal immigration and the threat of terrorism. The conference will also include hands-on training for law enforcement officers to see real examples of fake identification documents and determine means to thwart document fraud. AUSA Joe Volpe will also outline specific immigration laws of importance to law enforcement officers and highlight recent immigration cases in the Eastern District of Arkansas. The conference will be held at the Jacksonville Community Center (directions below). We have applied for CLEST credit.
